Lights Out Lounge Set - Annelaine Patterns

I am back! I know I have been gone for about a month but I had been prepping for my first craft fair out here and things got out of hand. Now that that is over with things may calm down a bit and normalize. I did however add to the crazy by adding yet another ambassador position to my list of things. This designer is new to me completely and just starting on their boy designs which I am very excited for.

This lounge set pattern is considered a boy pattern but can easily be used as unisex the only thing that makes it "boy" is the rise of the inseam is lower to allow for room. I love that they took this into consideration as even though my monsters are little they don't like anything too tight and restricting. It comes with many options from arm binding for the sleeveless option, short sleeves, long sleeve with our without cuffs and a color blocking option for the top and either pants or shorts for the bottoms. Oh and did i mention it is from size 6 months to youth 20! (measure child this does not go off of RTW sizes. you can find the size chart in the photos in the listing of the pattern) so you can make all your children match cause you know now much they love matching each other.

I didn't like the printing of this pattern only since I had to use like 20 pages and had to throw away most of it the back and the front are both separate pieces but almost identical except the neckline so that could be combined to save on paper and rectangles were also printed instead of having a cut chart to save ink and paper. Now I am just nit picking but just thought it should be included. Though it does have layers which is nice only having to print the size you need and not get lost in all the extra lines.

The only downside I have seen with this pattern instructions is the fact they don't give you instructions now to do the color blocking (they told us they updated instsructions maybe they have added this to it now but I haven't seen the final copy). I have done it before so I have experience but if you want to do it for the first time you would be lost. I may do a little tutorial for you on doing that when I get my oldest's fabric in the mail which will be soon since now he wants a pair. The rest of the clothing works up just like any other shirt and the pants I love since when attaching the elastic you don't make a casing you sew it on right away it it looks so clean!

I made mine out of cotton lycra (from Joanns thats right they have BATMAN knit fabric what?!?!) and a cotton rayon mix I believe it was and used that for the sleeve cuffs, which wasn't the best idea only since it didn't have the best stretch and was a pain to attach.

In the long run I do think I will be making more of these and may end up being our christmas pajama pattern this year.

This pattern for a limited time will be on sale for $6 till Oct 1st then it will go back to normal price of $10 and you can get it here with my affiliate link which I would appreciate and keep this blog running! Thank you!

UPDATE 10-4-18-- I have received the final pattern and it does have the color blocking instructions!
